- Sarah became the second wife of Captain James Sinkler of Old Santee Plantation, St Stephen’s Parish. Captain Sinkler married three times. He first married Miss Cahusac, second to Sarah Cantey (same as above) and third to Margaret Cantey, Sarah’s half-sister. Sarah died before Oct. 1780 which was the date of her father’s death. Her husband died before 20 Nov 1800. They had one daughter, Anne Sinkler who married on 10 May 1791, James Burchell Richardson who was the son of General Richard Richardson and his second wife, Dorothea Sinkler. James became Governor of South Carolina from 1802 to 1804.

"James Burchell Richardson was born at the family mansion in Craven (now Clarendon) County, SC, Oct 28 1770; son of Gen. Richard and Dorothy (Sinkler) Richardson; and grandson of Charles Richardson. He was chief in command in a campaign against the Indians, and afterward served in the war of the Revolution. James was married to Ann Cantey Sinkler. He engaged in planting and was also a breeder and runner of thoroughbred horses, his name being frequently mentioned in this connection in the Turf Register. He was an active politician, served in both houses of the state legislature, being president of the senate, and was governor of South Carolina, 1802-04.. He died at his mansion, April 28, 1836."
