| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina of Greenville, South Carolina HELENA WEATHERLY Helena Thomas Weatherly, 89, widow of Walter Belton Weatherly Sr., died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at NHC Healthcare-Greenville. Born in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Layton S. Thomas and the late Minnie O. McElveen Thomas. Mrs. Weatherly was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene where she served in the nursery for many years. Survivors include one son, Walter B. Weatherly, Jr. (Nancy) of Taylors; one daughter, Judith W. "Judy" McLeod (Raymond) of Williamsburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Mary Caroline "Carrie" Rawl (Thomas), Lee Christopher Weatherly (Amy), Monte McLeod (Melanie), Kenneth McLeod (LaNita), and April McLeod Knowles (Bobby); and eight great-grandchildren, Sarah Anne Rawl, Ava Caroline Weatherly, Elisabeth Elaine Weatherly, Addison Meredith McLeod, Chase Altman McLeod, Avery Helena McLeod, Madeline Grace Knowles and Lily Caroline Knowles. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sumter First Church of the Nazarene Nursery, 3700 Patriot Park Way, Sumter, SC 29154.
