MAHONEY MANNING – Mary Esther Bagnal Mahoney, 82, widow of Claude N. Mahoney, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at her home in the Bloomville community. Born March 19, 1925, in New Zion, she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Lula Gertrude Evans Bagnal. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Alice Mahoney of Manning; two sons, John Allen Mahoney of Manning and Glenn Mahoney of Greenville; a sister, Harriet Joann Wiggins of Suffolk, Va.; a brother, Rev. Clyde Bagnal of New Zion; three grandchildren, Eric Mahoney and his wife, Toni, Chris Mahoney and Nathaniel Mahoney; and two great-grandchildren, John Thomas Mahoney and Caden Mahoney. She was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Wilbur Hipp. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are William Brewer, Howard Bagnal, Jimmy Bagnal, Randy Floyd, Glen Barron and Bubba Bagnal. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning and at other times at the residence, 4545 Bloomville Highway, Manning. Memorials may be made to Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2761 Liberty Church Road, Manning, SC 29102, or to Tuomey Hospice, 115 N. Sumter St., Suite 410, Sumter, SC 29150.
