Born in Penn Yan, New York, he was a son of the late John and Maria Paulsen Hansen. Mr. Hansen was a member of Pinewood Baptist Church and was the retired owner and operator of Pinewood Trucking Co. He was a U.S. Navy Korean veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 15. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; six sons, Paul Hansen (Laura), Tony Hansen (Linda), Jeff Hansen (Amy), Joey Hansen (Tina), Niel Hansen and Phil Hansen (June); seven daughters, Yannick Ingersol, Pauline Baug, Carole Hansen and Pearl Hansen, all of New York, Dianne Geddings (John), Carol Oxendine and Robin Pollock (Brian), all of Sumter; one stepson, John Ard (Mildred) of Manning; two stepdaughters, Linda Ross (Greg) of Columbia and Ginger Moore (Tommy) of Rembert; 31 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Pinewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Gray, the Rev. Bennie Barwick, the Rev. Jonathan Bradshaw and the Rev. Steve Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Pinewood Baptist Church, P.O.
