| HIST | of Charleston, South Carolina at death- he had 8 grandchildren News - Obituaries Friday, May. 01, 2009 Dr. David William Cuttino Jr. CHARLESTON — Dr. David William Cuttino, Jr., 81, husband of Evelyn “Dell” Eaddy Cuttino of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. The relatives and friends of Dr. David Cuttino, Jr. are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Ashley River Baptist at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Mount Pleasant Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service. Dr. Cuttino was born October 18, 1927, in Sumter, SC, son of the late David William Cuttino, Sr. and Thelma Rose Cuttino. He received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from The Citadel and his PhD from Florida State University. He also served in the United States Army and was a member of the Ashley River Baptist Church. Dr. Cuttino was a founding faculty member of Charleston Southern University, formerly The Baptist College, was head of the Music Department at Charleston Southern University and also served as Minister of Music in several local Baptist churches. He is survived by his wife of 59 years 11 months, Evelyn “Dell” Cuttino of Charleston, SC; daughters, Pamela D. Brinkerhoff and her husband, Bill, of Ramona, CA, and Carole G. Cuttino and her husband, Jim Anderson, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sons, David W. Cuttino, III and his wife, Marion, of Benton, AR, and Walter E. Cuttino and his wife, Simone, of Irmo, SC; and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dr. Cuttino’s name to The Choral / Voice Departments of Charleston Southern University School of Music, P.O. Box 118087, Charleston, SC 29423.
