ARDIS Posted: Wednesday, July 7, 2004 12:00 am Elizabeth Davis Ardis, age 80, wife of the late Norman E. Ardis, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ardis was born in Sumter the daughter of the late William R. and Gladys Wells Davis. She was a lifetime member of Grace Baptist Church, a pianist for 32 years in the adult department of Grace, a graduate of Edmunds High School, and also attended Columbia Bible College. She retired from Campbell Soup Co. She was the greatest mom. Survivors are two sons, Norman E. Ardis and his wife, Margaret, and William R. "Ricky" Ardis and his wife, Brenda, all of Sumter; three daughters, Elizabeth V. "Betty" Dannhardt and her husband, Mike, of Tampa, Fla., Jean Ardis Logan and her husband, Mike, of Lynchburg, and Debra Ann "Debbie" Ardis of Sumter; three brothers, John Charles Davis Sr. of Sumter, Marion Henry Davis of Sumter, and Dr. S. Perry Davis of Pinewood; two grandchildren, Jodie Christina Richardson of Tampa, Fla., and Mandy Logan Hicks of Florence; one great-grandchild, Kyndel Q. Richardson; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, William Robert Davis and Richard Gordon Davis; and one son, Jimmy Allen Ardis. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. James Chandler and the Rev. Howard Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Marion Davis Jr., Johnny Davis, Larry Davis, Dekle Logan, Channing Logan, the Rev. Donnie Hearell, Ricky Killinger and Dustie Hearell. Honorary pallbearers will be the city of Sumter Police Department. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the residence at 410 E. Brewington Road. Memorials may be sent to Grace Baptist Church, 219 W. Calhoun St., Sumter, SC 29150. Online memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.bullockfuneralhome.com.
