  HIST	RAYMOND GARCIA RODRIGUEZ Posted Thursday, July 22, 2021 6:00 am Raymond Garcia Rodriguez, age 69, beloved husband of 37 years to Ruby Oleen Thames Rodriguez, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at MUSC of Florence. Born in Los Angeles, California, he was a son of the late Raymond Flores Rodriguez and Maria Jesus Garcia Rodriguez. Raymond was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and was known for his gentle and loving spirit. He worked at Kimbrell's Furniture for more than 25 years and he enjoyed working in his garden. He loved flowers and was an avid Clemson football fan. His true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Oleen, he is survived by four sons, Jesse Ray Rodriguez of Sumter, Raymond Michael Rodriguez and his wife, Elizabeth, of Sumter, Carl Matula Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Sumter and Brian Matula and his wife, Jami, of Dalzell; one daughter, Amanda Maria Holland and her husband, William, of Camden; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Matula and Rachel Yarbrough, both of Sumter; one brother, Andy Rodriguez and his wife, Cathy, of Fresno, California; one sister, Lydia Bubenik and her husband, Dennis, of Fresno; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the home.
