BROCK SUMMERTON – Frances Cothran Brock, 88, widow of Mannie Rickenbaker Brock, died Wednesday, Oct.15, 2008, at her residence in Summerton. Born March 14, 1920, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Dillard and Mamie Waite Ferrell Cothran. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Clarendon County Treasurer's Office, a member of Summerton Baptist Church, a charter member of the Historical Society, a board member of Clarendon Hall and a member of various bridge and garden clubs. Surviving are two sons, Harvin Brock of Manning and Rick Brock of Hazard, Ky.; two daughters, Gene Brock Benfield of Manning and Ginger Ridgill (Cecil) of Darlington; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special caretaker, Alice Gaymon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Ferrell Cothran; and a sister, Ruth Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Summerton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rob Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons, Harvin Brock, Rick Brock, Jason Brock, Chandler Brock, Cecil Ridgill III, Chad Dantzler and Bobby Woodson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the residence, 1500 Brock Road, Summerton. Memorials may be made to Summerton Baptist Church, P. O.
