| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Date Published: August 8, 2008 FANNIE R. NICHOLES Fannie Ruth Nicholes, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at a local nursing center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Judson Fuller Nicholes and the late Addie Maybell Parrish Nicholes. Miss Nicholes was a member of First Southern Methodist Church and was a retired telephone operator with General Telephone Co. Surviving are a brother, Judson Fuller Nicholes Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; a niece, Gwyn DuBose-Schmitt of Columbia; and a nephew, Coit M. DuBose of Oklahoma City, Okla. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris N. Kiker and Mildred N. DuBose. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Ellison Evans officiating.
