Posted Thursday, April 3, 2025 10:04 am Burrell Segars “Buddy” Rogerson Jr., 47, husband of Melanie Farnham Rogerson, died Monday, March 31, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey. Born Feb. 12, 1978, in Sumter, he was the son of Burrell Segars Rogerson Sr. and Jean Seymour Rogerson. Mr. Rogerson was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. He graduated from Clemson University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree where he double majored in Agriculture and Applied Economics and Animal and Veterinary Sciences. He was formerly employed with Palmetto Pigeon Plant as a production supervisor and then as a field representative with Pilgrim’s Pride. He received his real estate license in 2007 and his broker’s license in 2011. During his first full time year in real estate, he earned ERA Real Estate’s National Rookie of the Year Award. Throughout his real estate career, he spent time with ERA Wilder Realty, Bowen & Associates Realty and Advantage Realty Group, holding various titles and positions. Then he returned to his first love of agriculture and poultry science as office manager at Palmetto Pigeon Plant until his health declined. Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include two sons, Jeffrey Michael Rogerson and Jackson Rogerson; two sisters, Jennifer Rogerson (Hal Turner) and Lindsay Rogerson Flanagan (Sean); two nephews, Archer Flanagan and Ezra Flanagan; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and four fur babies, Kitty, Aria, Winchester and Esme. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Edward Rogerson Jr. and Ellen Segars Rogerson; maternal grandparents, William Irvin Seymour and Hannah Brogdon Seymour; and uncles, Johnny Rogerson, Bill Seymour and Danny Seymour. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Todd Fleming. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents.
