Born July 26, 1937, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Calvin C. and Janie Dawkins Hatfield. She was a retired dry cleaners manager. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a former member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed making crafts and making and wearing pretty jewelry. She also enjoyed talking and being with people. Survivors besides her husband, Earnest D. Brewer, of the home include a daughter, Pamela O. (Tommy) Childers of Cheraw; a stepdaughter, Teresa (Gerald) Robinson of Indian Island; five grandchildren, Ginger (Bryan) Chestnut, Melanie (Charles) Davidson and Andrea, Chris and Kasey Jeffords; six great-grandchildren, Bryan and Courtney Chestnut, Zachary and Cora Davidson and Logan Brazzel and Danica Warren; two brothers, Calvin C. (Beth) Hatfield Jr. of Baton Rouge, La. and Daniel J. Hatfield of Aiken; a sister, Emily H. Rosenbrook of North Augusta; and Iris and Bobby Dubose of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Carolina's Hospice, 122 E. Cedar St., Florence, SC 29501.
