I can’t figure out how? jkh I am giving Irma Sturm Grigg’s obituary, it follows. jkh IRMA STURM GRIGG Posted Saturday, March 4, 2023 6:00 am Irmgard "Irma" Antonie Sturm Grigg, 97, widow of Joseph E. Grigg, died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her home. Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Munich, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Georg Stьrm and Paula Lindacher Stьrm. She was an active member of Crosswell Baptist Church. She lived her youth in Munich prior to and into the World War II days. As a youth, she enjoyed swimming, biking, mountain climbing and hiking with friends on a regular basis. After WWII, she met and married Staff Sgt. Joseph E. Grigg on Sept. 1, 1946, at U.S. Army Headquarters in Munich. His military service carried them across the globe as they grew their family, finally settling in Sumter in 1969. Survivors include five children, Evelyn Powell (Jim) of Florence, Barbara Barnes (Mike) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kenneth Grigg (Marina) of Conway, and Steven Grigg and Susan Oldhouser, both of Sumter; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Oldhouser, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Charles Owens. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
