    Obit from The Sumter Item, dated 29 May 1987 reads; LUCIAN D. HUTCHINSON Lucian D. Hutchinson, 62, died this morning at The Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late J. Lester Hutchinson and Jennie Singleton Hutchinson Campbell. Mr. Hutchinson attended the Calvary Nazarene Church. He was retired from the Air Force and Civil Service at Shaw Air Force Base. He was a World War II veteran and a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lahmann Hutchinson; three daughters, Jacqueline Kay Hughes of Charleston, Ann Danford of Columbia and Judy Barfield of Lancaster; a sister, Virginia Mellette Capper of the Isle of Palms; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Elmore-Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. G. W. Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Nazarene Church. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.

Lahmann have announced the marriage of their younger daughter, Dorothy, to PFC Lucian D. Hutchinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hutchinson of WIlmington, N. C. The event took place in Lincoln on Friday afternoon, Dec. 24, and the ceremoney was performed by Maj. Clyde Cox. They arrived in Scribner that same evening to spend the Christmas week-end and left Sunday afternoon for Lincoln where PFC Hutchinson is stationed at the Army Air Base. Incidentally, the marriage took place on the eve of the bride’s parents’ wedding anniversary so the family was able to celebrate a double wedding and Christmas dinner together.

    Obit from Sumter Item 21 Sep 2000 it reads: DOROTHY D. HUTCHINSON Dorothy D. Hutchinson, 76, widow of Lucian D. Hutchinson, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998, at her home. Born in Scribner, Neb., she was a daughter of the late William and Martha Lahman. Mrs. Hutchinson was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include three daughters, Judy Barfield of Sumter, Ann Danford of Columbia and Jacqueline Hughes of North Charleston; a sister-in-law, Virginia Capper of Sumter; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today in Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Scribner, Neb., a daughter of William Lahman and Martha Lahman. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of Lucian D. Hutchinson. Surviving are three daughters, Judy Barfield of Sumter, Ann Danford of Columbia and Jacqueline Hughes of North Charleston; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

    Dec 31, 1943- SCRIBNER- DOROTHY LAHMAN AND PFC HUTCHINSON WED IN LINCOLN- Miss Dorothy Lahman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lahman, was married to PFC Lucian D. Hutchinson at Lincoln. Major Clyde Cox performed the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of the Scribner public schools and has been employed in Fremont and Lincoln since graduation. PFC Hutchinson is stationed at the Army Air Base at Lincoln, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hutchinson of Wilmington, N. C. After their marriage, the young couple came to Scribner, where they spent the Christmas week end with relatives and friends.

She came to America in 1894, with her husband and settled in Dodge County. They made their home here until 1907, when the family moved to Colorado. The husband died in Jan uary, 1915. Since that time she has contined to make her home with her son, Peter, in Colorado. She had reached the advanced age of 86 years at the time of her death.

My father, Karl Fedrich Ruehl, was born in Falkenberg, Germany, March 29, 1866. He married Ida Gerisch in Freinenwalds, Germany. He had one sister Louise 10 years older then he was. He had one half brother, don’t know his first name, last Ruehl. Aunt Helen’s daughter, Beverly (Richard Brownfield, Burbank, California) daughter Tie-Lee. Ramona (M. E. Smith). Meta Reimer married Bernard Lahmann. They had 9 children; John, Henry, (Aline), Ben, Adolph, William, Hinie, Peter, George. John had 6 children, Ben, August, Martha, Agnes, Wilfred, Loretta. RUEHL, 80, WELLINGTON, DEAD reads- WELLINGTON (Special)- Karl Fredrich Ruehl, 80, a resident of Larimer county for 42 years, died at his home four miles southeast of Wellington at 3:30 a. m. today. Until fairly recently he had been in good health. Mr. Ruehl was born in Falkenberg, Germany, March 29, 1866. He married Miss Caroline Louise Ida Gerisch Nov. 1, 1891, at Freiewalde, Germany. She died Aug. 9, 1944. Mr. Ruehl made his home with two sons, Karl Jr. and Fred W. Ruehl. He is survived also by four daughters: Mrs. Adloph Lahmann of Fremont, Neb., Mrs. William Lahmann of Scribner, Neb., and Mrs. George Lahmann, also of Scribner; and Mrs. Floyd Snider of North Hollywood, Calif. The first three are married to three brothers. He is survived also by 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The Rev. E. F. Wendt, pastor of the American Lutheran church of Fort Collins, will conduct the funeral at the Blythe-Hollowell mortuary. No time has been announced yet for the service. Burial will be in Grandview cemetery. another obituary said “he homesteaded many years”. 6-14-1946- Carl Ruehl, 80, as esteemed resident of the county southeast Wellington, just inside the Weld county line, where he homesteaded many years ago, died at 3:30 Thursday morning after a lingering illness. He leaves two sons, Carl and Fred, and four married daughters, 3 in Nebraska and one in California. Mrs. Ruehl died in August 1944.
