Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Newell LeGrand Ardis and Hannah Kolb Ardis. Mr. Ardis was a retired employee of Korn Industries. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; three sons, Hank Flemin Ardis of Wedgefield, Matthew J. Ardis (Kristin) of Navarre, Florida, and Jason A. Ardis (Tammy) of Williston; two sisters, Phyllis Hodge and Julie Shadoan, both of Sumter; a brother, Ronnie Ardis of Augusta, Georgia; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne McElveen officiating.
