Dwight promoted by forestry commission - F. Marion Dwight Jr., who had served as superintendent at Poinsett State Park since 1940, was promoted to assistant state park director of the S.C. State Commission of Forestry in Columbia, where he and his family will reside. A Sumter County native, he is a graduate of Clemson College with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture and is married to the former Pauline Lee of Sumter. The Dwights have two children, Dr. F. Marion Dwight III of Bamberg and Harriet, a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. In his new position Dwight will be in charge of all historical areas administered by the state commission, will maintain and add to museums already established, seek to establish additional museums where feasible, and work toward more thorough interpretation at all state parks.
