Juanita A. Parker
Juanita Anderson Parker, 83, widow of Willard M. Parker, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 5, 1929, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Huldy Barfield Anderson. She was of the Nazarene and Holiness faith.
She has left behind to remember her: three sons, Don Parker (Emilie), James Parker (Evelyn) and Russell Parker (Christine), all of Sumter; two daughters, Sylvia Avins (Coot) and Marilyn Grover (Bill), both of Sumter; 28 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Blake of Charleston and Marie Bryant of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen Parker; a daughter, Martha Geddings; two grandsons, David Parker and Allen Parker Jr.; and a granddaughter, Sylvia Christy Avins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dale Turner and the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4195 Bethel Church Road, Sumter.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
