INEZ B. BLACK
Inez Baker Black, widow of Houston R. Black, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her home.
Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Hugh S. Baker and Willie Mae Mangum. Mrs. Black was raised in the High Hills of Stateburg and was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Cross, where she served in the choir for many years. She was educated in the Sumter County school system, Clevenger College, McLaurin Business School and Sumter Technical College.
Surviving are twin daughters, Joy and Jan Black of the home; one son, John Black and wife, Melissa, of Santee; two sisters, Eunice Crawford and Evelyn Johnson; two nephews, Allan Crawford and Shay Crawford; and one niece, Robin Campbell.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Cross in Stateburg with the Rev. Thomas W. Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
