Poston, Sybil Fincher Sybil Fincher Poston FLORENCE - Mrs. Sybil Fincher Poston, 87, wife of the late James E. "Jim" Poston, Sr., passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Heritage Home of Florence, after an illness. Mrs. Poston was born in Bamberg County, SC, the daughter of the late John W. and Louise Wiggins Fincher. Her family moved to Lake City in 1937, and she was a graduate of Lake City High School. Mrs. Poston attended Williamsburg Technical College and Francis Marion University. She worked in the insurance business for 32 years, retiring in 1971. She was then employed by Florence County School District #3 in the Business Office. Mrs. Poston was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church and the Frances Brickle Sunday School Class. Surviving are her two sons, James "Jim" Poston, Jr., (Nancy) of Chapin, SC, and William "Bill" L. Poston (Linda) of Lexington, SC and San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Paige Poston Mathias of Charleston, SC, James E. Poston, III, Rachel C. Poston and Dana E. Poston, all of Chapin, SC; great-grandchildren, Graydon and Bowen Bourgoyne; and her precious little dog, "Lucy". Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Fincher. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC. Memorials may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P. O. Box 96105, Washington, DC 20090-6105, Lake City First Baptist Church, P. O. Thanks, Jackie. I was just digging around on the Internet for my mother (Mrs. Fincher's daughter, Sybil who is 84) and found your site. Thought I would try to fill in the blanks just a little.
