| HIST | Portia B. Cochran SALISBURY, N.C. — Portia Brown Cochran, 86, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012, at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Sumter, to the late William Nelson Brown and Mattie Marie Strong Brown, she was educated in South Carolina schools. Mrs. Cochran worked for Frito-Lay in Salisbury for 10 years and was a homemaker. Preceding her in death was her husband, Marion Cochran in 1993; and four sisters. Mrs. Cochran is survived by two sons, Robbie Cochran of Denton, N.C., and Marion Cochran and wife, Judy, of Centreville, Va. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery in Sumter. The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Care of Salisbury for their loving care of Mrs. Cochran.
