| HIST | I know that this Allen Craven Bradham is related to William Simons Bradham, MD, and Laura Hanahan Simons, but I don’t get the connection. Perhaps they are his parents. William has a son, David Wright Bradham. Allen Craven Bradham wife is Wellie Wright. A gentle man with a sharp mind and a lively sense of humor, he had suffered for many years with chronic lung disease. Bill was born in Charleston, SC on Dec. 3, 1929 to the late Allen Craven Bradham, MD and Laura Hanahan Simons Bradham. He was predeceased by his older brother, Allen and his identical twin, Lawrence and is survived by his sister, Eleanor Drummond. Bill graduated from the University of the South in 1951 and served in the US Navy in Korea from 1951-1955 as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. He returned to Charleston to attend the Medical University of SC, graduating in 1959 and marrying the late Eloise Adcock Bradham, MD, the day after graduation. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at St. Louis City Hospital and at MUSC, followed by private practice in Columbia, SC for 30 years. After retiring from private practice Bill served as the physician at the Richland County Department of Corrections from 1992-1997. Bill is survived by his daughter, Eloise Daniel Bradham (Mark George) and sons, William Simons Bradham, Jr. (Tami) and David Wright Bradham (Pegi Roberts). There are seven grandchildren, Laura and Daniel George, Dave and Robi Bradham and William, Caroline, and Camden Bradham. A graveside service for William Simons Bradham, MD will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 in Elmwood Cemetery.
