| HIST | REGINALD C. THAMES III Posted Wednesday, November 4, 2020 6:00 am MANNING - Reginald C. "Carl" Thames III, 54, husband of Ioana Thames, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at MUSC in Charleston. Born on Feb. 18, 1966, in Hampton, he was a son of Annette Johnson Hall and the late Rev. Reginald C. Thames II. At an early age, Carl showed his love of faith, nature, horses, hunting and animals. A true "John Wayne" of his time, Carl enjoyed horseback riding and camping with his wife and friends. With a strong faith in Christ, he always referenced his God and God's grace was sufficient for him. Carl loved from the deepest depth of his heart and always spoke of the love of the men that he wanted to follow: his grandfathers and his father. Carl was loved greatly by his family and friends. He awaits us at the gates. His wish would be for everyone to have a relationship with Christ and join him one day. Survivors include his wife of Manning; his mother (Arnold Hall) of Sumter; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Davis (Todd) of Alcolu and Marie Amerson (Timmy) of Ridgeway; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 5079 Alex Harvin Highway, Manning, SC 29102. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [1] | |
