| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Date Published: May 25, 2008 FURMAN H. RAHN Furman Howard Rahn, 79, husband of Betty Bradham Rahn, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at his home. Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late O.H. Rahn and the late Frances Marion Murdaugh Rahn. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and a retired insurance salesman. Survivors include his wife of 57 years; a son, Charles H. "Ronnie" Rahn (Martha Watkins) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Tony Rahn and Ashleigh Pack; three step-grandchildren, Chris McDougal, Matt McDougal and Andy McDougal; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn R. Moore of Sumter and Joann R. Rohrback (Jerome) of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Rahn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, with the Rev. Robert Rivers officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tony Rahn, Derrick Pack and Andy McDougal, and nephews, Michael Moore and Ricky Moore. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1 Herbert Circle. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church, 2500 West Oakland Ave., Sumter, SC 29154-5103, or to Winyah Hospice, 2575 Lin-Do Court, Suite E, Sumter, SC 29150.
