BEASLEY Dorothy Ardis Beasley, 83, wife of Jay Beasley, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at a local nursing facility. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie Boyce Ardis. Mrs. Beasley was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God. Survivors include her husband of Wedgefield; a son, Terry E. Beasley (Frances) of Wedgefield; three grandchildren, Jack Evans, Ellen Pritchard and Honey Dawn Cribb; and four great-grandchildren, Trey Scott, Hunter Pritchard, Brittani Evans and Ava Clarie Cribb. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur Hynes, J.T. Hynes, Jack Boyce and Alton Ardis; and three sisters, Lois Nobles, Louise Shorter and Ruth Broadway. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donnie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Green Acres Assembly of God fellowship hall following graveside services.
