Amanda Paige Griffin and Justin Yeuell Hyatt, both of Sumter, announce their engagement. The bride-elect is the daughter of Ron and Barbara Metsker of Sumter and the late Stephen B. Griffin, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Beatson of Sumter and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ardis of Manning. She graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate with a degree in early childhood education. She is employed by Sumter School District 17. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Karen Hyatt and Eddie Dew, and Jerry Hyatt, all of Sumter, and the grandson of the late Mary Eunice Hyatt, Doyle Holifield and the late Mrs. Marie Holifield, and Al and Miriam Gummerson, all of Sumter. He graduated from Sumter Academy. He is employed by SYSCO, Columbia. The wedding is planned for May 22, 2010, at the Sumter County Museum, Sumter.
