MARSH Posted Tuesday, February 20, 2018 6:00 am Sarah Rogers Marsh, 88, wife of Bertie Jefferson "Jeff" Marsh, died on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at a local nursing facility. Born on Aug. 1, 1929, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late David and Bertha Galloway Rogers. Mrs. Marsh was a member of Paxville Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Cleve Terrell Marsh (Kathy) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Dane Jeff Marsh of Sumter; one daughter, Dana Marsh Mitchell (Jeff) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Greg Mitchell and Jessica Kurzontkowski; three step-grandchildren, Harrison Jones, Celina Knipper and Meleah Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Rogers of Manning, Everette Rogers of Dalzell and Charles Rogers of Sumter; and one sister, Mary Richardson of Saluda. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Tomson, Dorothy Barto and Barbara Bianco; and one brother, David Rogers. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Paxville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Paxville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Sullivan, Eddie Brown, Frankie Trepoy, Mike Tomson, Al Harris and Greg Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Finley, Hunter Richbourg, Pete Brown, Derrick Rogers, Lee Rogers and Michael Tomson. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday at Paxville Baptist Church and other times at the home, 250 Keels Road. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Mark Crabbe for all of his compassionate care. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Paxville Baptist Church, 10278 Lewis Road, Manning, SC 29102.
