I have 5 children listed to her but they are not the 5 children listed in her obituary. I am adding those 5 children listed in her obituary. jkh RUTH E. BARWICK Posted Wednesday, January 7, 2015 6:00 am Ruth E. Barwick, 86, widow of Irvin L. Barwick, died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Jackson Compton. She was an avid Bingo player. Survivors include five children, Barbara J. Barwick (William), Patricia Griffin (Larry), Charles Medlin (Beth), Deborah Kelley (Bobby) and James Medlin (Stacey), all of Sumter; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Osteen and Bertha Spires; and two brothers, Charlie Compton Jr. and Jim Compton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Bowman officiating.
