| HIST | of Turbeville, South Carolina Something seems wrong about his mother and siblings. jkh J.C. WATTS TURBEVILLE -- J.C. Watts, age 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at his residence, after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Turbeville Southern Methodist Church with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home Inc. of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Julius Hampton Watts and Mary Harrington Watts. He was a U.S. Army veteran, an active farmer for more than 65 years and a member of Turbeville Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Watts was preceded in death by two brothers, Wofford Watts and Richard Watts; and four sisters, Ollie Mae Jones, Letha Welch, Julia Conyers and Louise Watts. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ann Prescott Watts of the home; four daughters, Belinda Courtney and Beth Watts, both of Turbeville, Sheryl (Harry) Ethridge of Newberry and Betty Jean (John) Blanton of Shelby, N.C.; a son, Charlton (Jackie) Watts of Turbeville; four sisters, Evelyn Wilkerson of Fitzgerald, Ga., Virginia Coker of Turbeville, Christine Kirkman of Walterboro and Margaret Spigner of Sumter.
