Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Turner Griffin. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include three sons, George F. Geddings Sr. (Margie) and Archie L. Geddings (Sandra), both of Sumter, and Gilbert Geddings (Betty) of Vancleave, Miss.; two daughters, Fannie Mae Ardis and Vivian Hudson (Jessie), both of Sumter; a sister, Alpha Boyce of Sumter; two brothers, Otto Griffin and Allen Griffin, both of Sumter; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by four children, Maggie Hudson, Mamie Geddings, Ethel Meade and John Geddings; a son-in-law, Eugene Ardis; and 12 brothers and sisters, Henry Griffin, Rohade Atkinson, Estelle Avins, Ruth Avins, Marion Ardis, Willie Washington Griffin, Ida McLeod, Janie McLeod, Zola Tremlin, Maxie Griffin, Roland Griffin and Joe Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. G.W. Harrell, Dale Turner and Arthur Sharpe officiating. Burial will be in the Geddings Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Jason Kyle Geddings, Franklin Geddings, Bruce Geddings, Matthew Geddings, Wesley Geddings, Trent Geddings, Stanley Ardis, Eddie Joe Ardis, Vernice Meade Jr., Barry Geddings and Travis Geddings. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 4235 Nazarene Church Road, Sumter, SC 29154, or to New Start Church of the Nazarene, 4686 J.W. Rhames Road, Manning, SC 29102.
