  HIST	of Sumter, South Carolina Betty H. Cuttino Elizabeth “Betty” Jewel Hodge Cuttino, 83, wife of Frank W. Cuttino, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her home. Born March 23, 1930, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Margaret Geddings Hodge. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the Ladies Friendship Circle. She worked for GTE and Verizon Telephone Co. for 42 years. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the International Telephone Pioneer Association. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Lisa Cuttino Knight (Frank) of Sumter; two sons, Charles Edward Cuttino and Fred Allen Cuttino, both of Sumter; four grandsons, Benjamin Taylor Knight, James Lee Cuttino, Jacob Law Cuttino and Brandon Corey Cuttino; a granddaughter, Brandi Frye; two great-grandchildren, Lundon and Ayden Frye; two sisters, Margie H. Poole (Perry) of Sumter and Mary Margaret Sawyer (Bob) of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, Herbert Albert Hodge (Margaret) of Watha, N.C., and Freddie Thomas Hodge (Louise) of Charlotte, N.C.; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Sheena Dionne and Kim Osborne Griffin. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Neal Hodge. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Eugene Mosier officiating. Pallbearers will be Frank Knight, Benjamin Knight, James Cuttino, Jacob Cuttino, Brandon Cuttino, Gil Brewer and Jimmy Saunders. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Concord Baptist Church and retirees of GTE and Verizon Telephone Co. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 415 Old Manning Road. Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 1885 Myrtle Beach Highway, Sumter, SC 29153 or Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2560 Tahoe Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
