Brinson Sr. Kirby Carnell Brinson Sr., 70, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Homer Boyd and Vermelle Morris Brinson. Mr. Brinson attended Meadowbrook Church of God. Survivors include three sons, Kirby Brinson Jr. (Wendy) and Barry Brinson, both of Sumter, and Casey Brinson of Nakina, N.C.; one daughter, Roxanne Brinson of Whiteville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Ty Brinson, Katie Brinson, Brittany Decker, Taylor Brinson, Jordan Brinson, Logan Brinson, Ryan Brinson, Kyle Brinson, Wyatt Brinson and Ashley Rudd; and one sister, Betty Bramlette of Lafollette, Tenn. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ron Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2675 Rhea Drive.
