DALZELL -- Henry Boykin Ross Sr., 73, husband of Donna J. Ross, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Robert Dalton Ross Sr. and the late Katie Boykin Ross. He was retired from Becker Sand & Gravel in Horatio after 33 years of service and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He attended St. Marks United Methodist Church. Survivors besides his wife of Dalzell include two sons, Henry B. Ross Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Spartanburg, and Michael Alan Taylor and his wife, Cathy, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Scott Ross, Thomas Ross, David Ross, Abbie Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor; five brothers, Robert D. Ross Jr., David C. Ross Sr., James W. Ross Sr., Charles B. Ross Sr. and Carl Hewitt Ross, all of Dalzell; and three sisters, Annie R. DuBose of Sumter, Carolyn R. Apperson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Katherine R. Brown of Camden. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca "Becky" Hancock Ross; and two brothers, Thomas L. Ross Sr. and Blanding D. Ross Sr. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Ross Cemetery in Dalzell with the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. Pallbearers will be Thomas L. Ross Jr., Robert D. Ross III, Jeffery A. Ross, Blanding D. Ross Jr., Charles B. Ross Jr. and Gary H. Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Euzelian Sunday School Class, Ronnie Weldon, Bobby Hedgepath, Joe Brown, Charlie Dixon, Grady Brown, Sam Moore, Carl C. DuBose Jr., Jerry Bailey, Russell Jones, Fred W. Whipperling Jr., Sammie Gardner, Dr. Philip Brandt and Dr. Billy Clowney. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Ross Cemetery, c/o Jane McKellar, P.O.
