Interment will follow under a Live Oak tree that Dona and Jerry planted in 1992 in the family plot at Tabernacle-Campground Cemetery in Lynchburg, SC, which was established by Jerry's great-great-grandfather Elder Nathan Hall, a Methodist minister. The family will receive guests at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Dona Locklair was born in Millen, GA, a daughter of the late Rev. Grady Hubert Hargrove and Bernise Pierce Hargrove. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Florence, SC. Dona received her junior and senior credits at Augusta University, Augusta, GA, and then transferred to the Ringling College of Art for three additional years of study to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She and her husband, Jerry, were and still are the owners of Locklair Art Gallery in Lynchburg, SC. Dona was exceptionally creative and successful not only as an artist and children's book illustrator, but also in personal children's ministry over her life time. Dona and Jerry painted together as a husband and wife team, as well as creating their own individual works of art. After graduation they established their home and business near Lynchburg, SC Surviving are her husband, Jerry Locklair, Sr. of Lynchburg; two sons, Jerry "Jeremy" L. Locklair, Jr., Millen/Lynchburg, GA, Jason Grady Locklair, Lynchburg, SC; a sister, Cecile Bell, Millen, GA, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W.
