GREEN TURBEVILLE -- Leslie Euston Green, age 88, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at a Florence hospital, after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home Inc. of Olanta. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Turbeville. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Gleaton E. and Sarah Levina Robinson Green. He was a self-employed farmer for the past 70 years. He was a member of the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher; deacon; member of the choir; member of the master's men, where he served as secretary and treasurer; and served faithfully as the church treasurer for the last 57 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vina Godwin; a sister, Theo Green Coker; and a grandson, Quent Coker. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Watts Green; a daughter, Wanda (Billy) Nexsen of Cades; a son, Rusty (Vermell) Green of Turbeville; a son-in-law, Danny Godwin of Turbeville; three sisters, Sarah Poss of Gainesville, Fla., Nell (Nauvard) Baker of Cades and Shirley (Sam) Knight of Lake City; a brother, Van (Emily) Green of Turbeville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
