of Pine Bluff, Arkansas Biographical Sketch of Francis Asbury Buddin- I was born at New Zion, (South Carolina) but my family moved to Williamsburg County when I was 2 years old. We lived first a mile west of Martin’s Cross Roads, then a year at Greeleyville (and on Santee, where we all nearly died with malaria). Then back to Martin’s Cross Roads, then to Hebron Community (The Daniel Johnson Place), then back near Brunson’s (Pump Head). From there I went to college, and my people kept on moving, but not too far away from the original settlement. ¶ Served El Bethel Church, Spartanburg (The One Day Church) 1917-18 while a senior in Wofford College. Ordained Deacon and Elder under the Chaplaincy rule at the Union Methodist Temple, Louisville, Kentucky, 4 Aug 1918 by the late Bishop W. F. McMurray. Served as Chaplain from 15 Aug 1918 to 9 Dec 1918. Admitted on trial to South Carolina Conference, Dec 1918. Admitted into full connection in 1920. Asbury Church, Little Rock 1924-28; FIrst Church, Hope, Arkansas 1928-30; First Church, Texarkana, Arkansas 1930-33; First Church, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 1933-38; First Church, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 1938-39. Transferred to North Texas Conference 1939. Pastor of Munger Place Church 1939-42; DIstrict Superintendent Dallas District 1942-47. Transferred back to Little Rock Conference 1947.
