| HIST | BARBARA ANN W. KINNEY Posted Friday, March 10, 2017 6:00 am Barbara Ann Weldon Kinney, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2017, preceded four years to the day by her husband, James Frederick Kinney. Mrs. Kinney was born on June 28, 1934, in Sumter, a daughter of the late Henry Brown Weldon and Alma Collins Weldon. She devoted her life to her family, home and church. She used her talents of sewing, baking and entertaining to make everything special for her family. She also blessed friends and church family with knitting prayer shawls and sending an abundance of cards. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, James "Jip" F. Kinney Jr., late husband of Dagmar Adams Kinney. She is survived by her loving sister, Diane Weldon Budine (Theodore Hart Budine) and their two daughters, Kimberly Budine-Wilkins and Melissa Budine, and their son, Theodore Budine. She is also survived by her two daughters, Pamela Kinney Channell (James Rollin Channell Jr.) and Petrice Kinney Rogers (Davis Collins "Spike" White Jr.); her grandchildren, Edie Andrews Riddlespurger, Kenneth Sandel Andrews, Mary Frances Snipes (Forrest Lee Snipes Jr.), Benjamin Lide Harper (Jamie Yates Harper), James "Jamie" F. Kinney III and Leslie Ann Kinney; and 10 precious great-grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Sumter. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. The family will greet visitors at 10 a.m. before the service in the parlor of the church. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
