| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina AMES M. DRIGGERS James "Jimmy" Moses Driggers, 78, beloved husband of 50 years to Susan Rebecca Kinney Driggers, died on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Clarendon County, a son of the late Louis Driggers and Hattie Alice Mahoney Driggers. He graduated from Edmunds High School, attended Clemson College and served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer (voted Sumter County Young Farmer of the Year award in 1965), a dairy farmer and owned and operated a quail shooting preserve. He was a producer for Sumter Dairies and on the board of directors of Sumter Dairies and Young's Food Stores. He loved to hunt and fish and will always be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Graham Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, James "Jay" Driggers Jr. of Sumter; two daughters, Martha "Marty" Driggers Covington and her husband, Chris, of York and Rebecca "Becca" Driggers Doswell and her husband, David, of Columbia; two brothers, Bynum Driggers and his wife, Kay, of Raleigh, N.C. and William "Billy" Driggers and his wife, Jean, of Jackson, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Savannah Covington, Emma Covington, Isabella Covington and Jack Covington. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Bullock Funeral Home.
