| HIST | of Wedgefield, South Carolina of Sumter, South Carolina Jay Beasley WEDGEFIELD - Jay Beasley Jr., 87, widower of Dorothy Ardis Beasley, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late Jay Beasley Sr. and the late Lila Smith Beasley. Mr. Beasley was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God and the VFW Seniors Club. He was retired from Santee Print Works after 37 years of service. Survivors include a son, Terry Beasley (Frances) of Wedgefield; three grandchildren, Jack Evans, Ellen Pritchard and Honey Dawn Cribb; five great-grandchildren, Trey Scott, Hunter Pritchard, Brittani Evans, Makayla Evans and Ava Claire Cribb; a brother, Jerry Beasley of Sumter; a sister, Dorothy Mauldin of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Phyllis Kelling. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donnie Collins and the Rev. Michael Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home in Wedgefield. Memorials may be made to Green Acres Assembly of God, 537 Lewis Road, Sumter, SC 29154. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
