GEDDINGS Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth Geddings Geddings, 71, widow of Harmon "H.M." M. Geddings Jr., died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Annie Hinson Geddings. Mrs. Geddings was a member of Sumter Baptist Temple. Surviving are a son, Harmon M. Geddings III and wife, Debbie, of Manning; three daughters, Carol Smith and husband, Dean, Terry Welch and husband, Jimmy, and Judy Still and husband, David, all of Sumter; two brothers, Michael Geddings and Wayne Geddings, both of Sumter; four sisters, Polly Hill, Lynn Ardis and Lillie McCoy, all of Sumter, and Susie Brown of Surfside Beach; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Reggie Smith; and a great-grandson, Timothy Aaron. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Sumter Baptist Temple with the Rev. Eddie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neal Welch, Nathan Welch, Craig Welch, Paul Geddings, Chris Geddings, Ryan Still, Dustin Avery and Kyle Robertson. The family received friends Monday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and will receive friends at other times at the home, 73 Pumpkin Lane. Memorials may be made to Sumter Baptist Temple Mission Fund to build new churches, 2295 Harper St., Sumter, SC 29150. Online condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com.
