Hickson Jr., 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at Pocotaligo Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 20, 1943, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Edward S. Hickson Sr. and Pearl Logan Hickson. He was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and retired from Campbell Soup Company. He was formerly a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Survivors include two sons, Edward S. “Stan” Hickson III (Alice Lyle) and Ronald Clark Hickson (Jill); four grandchildren, Davis Hickson, Julia Hickson, Summer Hickson and Dakota Hickson; and two sisters, Sandra Chandler and Jackie Bradley. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Hickson, and two brothers, Lawrence Hickson and Ronnie Hickson. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Lynchburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
