| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina The Rev. Robert L. Partin The Rev. Robert Lloyd “Bobby” Partin, 70, was called home peacefully to Glory in his home on Thursday, July 25, 2013, to be with his precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rev. Partin was born in Sumter, a son of the late Hazel James and Sarah Brown Partin. He was a longtime member of Bible Fellowship Church, where he was the teacher of the Howell Bible Class since 1965. He also faithfully served as church bookkeeper-treasurer since 1965; was a member of the official church board since 1965; and a church deacon since 2001, serving on the church board of trustees. He received his education in the Sumter area and went on to attend and graduate from Columbia Bible College in 1965. His favorite ministry as an ordained minister was his weekly visitation bringing red roses and his Bobby Partin smile to senior citizens in nine nursing homes of the Sumter area. Survivors include three sisters, Helen L. Partin, Betty Ann Etheredge and Sara P. Eron, all of Sumter; five brothers, James H. Partin (Mary) of Powhatan, Va., C. Wayne Partin (Anne) of Isle of Palms, and Julian F. Partin (Charlotte), Norman E. Partin (Barbara) and Michael R. Partin, all of Sumter; and a special family friend, Josephine McFadden. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Herman Partin, Lewis Partin and Charles C. Partin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. John Cook, the Rev. Bob Taylor and the Rev. Jim Ketchum officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael C. Newman, Billy Anderson, Smokey Fickling, Jim Zepko, Warren Carraway and Clint Barwick. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Howell Bible Class of Bible Fellowship Church, S.B. Brown, Frank Davis, Eugene Brown, Melvin Brown, Roy Allsbrook, Bobby June, Dr. Kevin Brown and Ed Hiott. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. The family would like to express a special thank you to Alechia and Jamara of Tuomey Hospice for their compassionate care during Bobby’s illness.
