Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery, 1840 New Zion Road, Lake City, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Family and Friends are welcome at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. today. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Charlie E. and Margaret Buddin McElveen. He was a retired painter. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivene Bryant McElveen; sisters, Frances M. Goodman and Ruth McElveen; and brothers, Marvin McElveen and Earl McElveen. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Bonnie Lee Hickman of Turbeville; a stepson, Dexter (Nancy) Bryant of Turbeville; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Betty M. (Billy) Cockerill, Clarice Staley and Wayne McElveen, all of Sumter, Stanley (Donna) McElveen of Calabash, N.C., and Cynthia M. Hamilton of Willow Springs, N.C.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a special great-niece, Lynn (Shubert) Cockfield of Lake City.
