| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina John W. Warren John Wiley Warren, 86, widower of Julia Watts Warren, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Rantoul, Ill., he was a son of the late John Wesley Warren and Willene Baker. Mr. Warren was a U.S. Army veteran with service in World War II and the Korean War and was a 1945 graduate of West Point at the age of 19. Mr. Warren was a school teacher in the New Jersey Public School System and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Stephen Warren and wife, Kathy, of Rocky Hill, Conn.; one daughter, Jamie S. Warren Youll and husband, Stephen, of South Amboy, N.J.; one brother, William F. Warren of Kailua, Hawaii; one sister, Ruth Warren Symington of Atlanta, Ga.; and one granddaughter, Kelly Warren of Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by a sister, June W. Wright. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Gorry officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Methodist Church cemetery in Alcolu. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday prior to the service at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
