Geddings Jr., died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Christmas and the late Atha Baker Christmas. Mrs. Geddings was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was a retired sales clerk with Jack's Shoes and Sumter Laundry and Cleaners. Surviving are a son, Charles M. Geddings III and his wife, Terry, of Sumter; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Christmas and Bertha Christmas of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, English, Hayward, Levander and Bainard Christmas; and a sister, Edith Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Riner officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be men of Pine Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the Rev. Don Riner, 2520 Tindal Road, Sumter, SC 29150. Online condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com.
