| HIST | of Dalzell, South Carolina of Sumter, South Carolina Date Published: May 3, 2009 NANCY A. SMALL Nancy Abrams Small, 80, departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at her home. Born in Sumter County on Feb. 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Aaron and Queenie Keith Abrams. Nancy received God as her personal Savior at an early age. She joined Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir and Sunday School until her health declined. Nancy was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and employed as a domestic caregiver for more than 30 years. She was a devoted sister, a caring aunt and a loving friend with a sweet spirit. Her life was a testimony and witness to the goodness, grace and mercy of God. Nancy was united in marriage to the late James Small, who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing: one brother, J. P. (Mable) Abrams; two special caregivers, Alexander (Stella) Jenkins and Robert Lee Jenkins; one grandniece, Demetra Porcher, whom she raised from childhood; one sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Abrams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Verlene Blanding, Martha Porcher, Emma Turner and Mary Jenkins; and two brothers, Earnest Lindburg Abrams and John Earl Abrams. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday from the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (USA), Dalzell with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson, pastor, eulogist. The family will receive friends at the home on 4118 Cannery Road, Dalzell. The remains will be placed in the church at noon. The procession will leave from the home at 12:30 p.m. Floral bearers and pallbearers will be friends and family. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Yard Cemetery.
