Dollard Sr., died on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at her home. Born on Dec. 29, 1939, in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Marion Sylvester Kirven and Amy Elizabeth Hendricks Kirven. Mrs. Dollard was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a caring woman who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sewing and making pageant dresses. She was the woman who kept our family whole, the one who would make you laugh until your stomach hurt. Survivors include her husband of 62 years; five children, Thomas R. Dollard Jr. (Pat), Ernest M. "Ernie" Dollard (Robin), Shelby "Ann" Bailey (John), Joseph C. "Joey" Dollard and John R. Dollard (Leigh), all of Sumter; 13 grandchildren, Vanessa DuRant (Phil Parnell), T.J. Dollard (Katie), Jenny Clark (Ryan), Elizabeth Stilwell (John), Heidi Bryant (Adam), Jason Dollard (Amber), Christopher Bailey (Lindsey), Stormy James (Johnson), Megan Truluck (Ryan), Madyson Dollard, Hunter Dollard (Kelsey), Caroline Dollard and Reed Dollard; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Marguerite Kirven of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward L. Dollard; and six brothers, James Gainey, Harvey Gainey Sr., Irvin Gainey, Jack Gainey, David L. "D.L." Gainey and Robert Gainey. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, T.J. Dollard, Hunter Dollard, Christopher Bailey, Jason Dollard, Adam Bryant and Phil Parnell. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. The family would like to express their appreciation to her dearly loved special caregiver, Sellarhea Jordan, for her excellent care.
