Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Willie "Billy" Turner and Marjorie "Margie" Carol Brown Turner. Mr. Turner attended Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Frances (Ronald) Morris Sr. and Judy (Lee) Howell; three sons, Donnie (Patricia) Frankie, and Wayne (Sandy) Turner, all of Sumter; two sisters, Elizabeth (Billy) Flowers of Greeleyville and Rene Card of Sumter; five brothers, Son (Loretta), Willie (Lillie Mae), Lawrence (Becky), and Carroll (Rebecca) Turner, all of Sumter; and Everett (Debbie) Turner of Laurens; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin "Bubba" and Earl Turner, and a sister, Peggy T. Coleman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, Sumter, with Rev. Ronnie Morris and Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, Wayne Turner, 330 Cone St. at the pond house.
