Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Timmonsville. Interment will follow in the Sumter Cemetery, Sumter, at 4 p.m. Mr. Connor was born in Sumter, a son of the late Maxie and Marie Geddings Connor. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Palmer College, receiving a degree in law enforcement. Mr. Connor had 40 years of experience in law enforcement. He worked in Sumter and Darlington counties before becoming the chief of police in Timmonsville. After 10 years of service as chief of police, he retired and took a job as a federal court security officer at the McMillian Federal Building in Florence. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Connor was a member of First Baptist Church in Timmonsville, serving as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Connor was devoted to his family, his church and his community. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Andrena Copeland Connor of Timmonsville; a son, Maxie Everette Connor of Cayce; a daughter, Dana Connor-Medley Bennett of Timmonsville; a brother, Dr. Walter E. Connor and his wife, Derinda, of Florence; a sister, Evelyn C. Thames and her husband, Robert, of Dazell; four grandchildren, Frank W. Medley IV (Charlotte), Hampton Tyler Medley, Spencer-Kaitlyn Medley and Olivia Pearl Medley; a great-grandchild, Alice Marie Medley; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Connor. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Shane Connor; and a sister, Barbara Connor Bradham. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P.O.
