REYNOLDS ELKIN, N.C. - Florrie Salvo Reynolds, 87, widow of Hubert Edens Reynolds of Sumter, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C. Having formerly resided in Sumter and Bishopville, she was currently residing at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Elkin, N.C. Born in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Claude H. and Marie Godfrey Salvo. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Bishopville. Survivors include a son, Robert J. Reynolds and wife, Kimberly, of Bandera, Texas; a daughter, Evelyn (Lynne) Bovender and husband, Michael, of Elkin; a granddaughter, Tracie Lynne Aultman and husband, Cliff, of Gaston; and a sister Adelaide Whelchel of Tucson, Ariz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Y. Salvo; and two sisters, Marie Hancock and Elizabeth (Lib) Baker. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Sumter at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge St., Elkin, NC 28621 or Harmony Baptist Church, 1940 Bethune Road, Bethune, SC 29009.
