Oakland Avenue, Sumter, South Carolina Wardell Parker Wardell "Gus" Parker, 80, loving widower of Lottie Rhodus Parker to whom he was married for 50 years, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at a local nursing center. Born in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Morris and Maggie DuBose Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired mechanic for Jones Chevrolet Co. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Russell and Gayle Yarborough (Lewis), both of Sumter, and Donna Watson (Bill) of Camden; three brothers; three sisters; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Shuler officiating.
