EDNA McCABE LOWDER
MANNING – Edna McCabe Lowder, 95, widow of Joseph Armstrong Lowder, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born April 30, 1914, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie Thames McCabe. She was a member of Jordan United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Joseph A. "Jack" Lowder (Cathy) of Manning; a daughter, Annette Rimmer of Manning; four sisters, Erma Prescott of Sumter, Betty Roof of Suffolk, Va., Deraldine Cooper of West Columbia and Merceline Richburg of Moncks Corner; a sister-in-law, Jessie McCabe of Alcolu; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Vivian Brunson; five brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Jordan United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Joey Hodge, Wayne Lowder, Daniel Pack, Brent Hodge, Jason Cales and Samuel Haley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the great-great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.
